The term of office of the current Teaching Council comes to an end in March 2016. The Council has 37 members and 16 of these are teachers who are elected by teachers. An election for teacher members will be held online from 22 February to noon on 9 March. Instructions for online voting will be posted out to teachers when voting commences.
The closing date for candidate nominations was 29 January. The Returning Officer has ruled on each nomination, and details of the candidates eligible for election can be found here.
The Council believes that it is important that you make the most of this opportunity to cast your vote.. It is your chance to help lead the development of policy as it relates to teaching and learning, and professional standards in the teaching profession. The elected members that you vote for will be in a position to make a significant contribution to this significant work.
