This week we are experiencing an exceptionally high volume of calls from teachers who are returning to the classroom and require vetting under the new legislation. In order to free up staff from phone calls to process the vetting applications we would like to ask teachers to please go to the vetting section on the Teaching Council website for information on how to apply. As of 9am Monday 5th September, 2016, 12,346 Vetting Disclosures have been made available to teachers.
Status Checks:
Please be advised that teachers can check the status of a vetting application by using the vetting application number and logging on to the National Vetting Bureau website at the following link:
https://vetting.garda.ie/Track
Urgent Processing:
If the teacher is currently in receipt of a job offer, please forward a letter/email from the relevant School Principal advising the Council of the position and start date. If the vetting application is already in progress, please remember to include the NVB vetting application number. For teachers with employment offers who are commencing the vetting process, please attach the letter from school to your vetting application form.
