Obtaining the Application Form
The Garda Vetting Application Form is not available to download. To obtain a form please call the Teaching Council on 01 651 7900 and choose the 'Garda Vetting' option. Alternatively, email
vetting@teachingcouncil.ie. Please note that the Teaching Council conducts vetting for teachers only. Non-teaching staff in schools should contact their Board of Management for details on how to apply for vetting. No individual will be registered by The Teaching Council until:
- Garda Vetting Application Forms have been fully processed
- Where required, additional documentation has been received
- A Garda vetting result has been issued to the applicant
To expedite registration, applicants must ensure that the form is correctly completed and that additional documentation has been submitted.
Sample of Completed Form
It is important to complete the Garda Vetting Application Form fully and accurately. Forms showing errors or omissions will be returned to the applicant for clarification, resulting in a delay in the Garda vetting procedure.
