High Levels of Satisfaction with the Teaching Profession

[ Tuesday, 23rd February 2010 ]

Attitudinal Survey

In order to inform its work in promoting teaching as a profession, the Council commissioned a survey on attitudes to the teaching profession.  The survey of 1,000 adults which was carried out by independent market research company, iReach Market Research, has shown that, overall, there are positive attitudes to the teaching profession with the majority of respondents satisfied with the way teachers do their jobs and having a high level of trust in teachers.  There was also a strong endorsement of the valuable role teachers play in our society and a good level of understanding of the complexity of the role and the skill level required.

Further details on the survey and its findings are available here.
