Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Registration 2010

The Teaching Council operates a streamlined process for the registration of teachers that have completed a programme of teacher education in 2010.

The stages of the process are as follows:

  1. A representative of the Teaching Council visits each college or University during the final year to provide information about the streamlined registration process, to distribute Garda Vetting Application forms and Student Consent Forms that permit each college or university to transfer student details to The Teaching Council.
  2. When the examination results have been finalised, each college or university transfers each graduating student's details and results to the Teaching Council.
  3. The Council uploads the results onto the Register and issues each NQT with a personalised application form.
  4. When a completed application form is received by The Teaching Council with all the necessary attachments, it can complete the registration process promptly.

 ** If you are sitting examinations in August, your examination results will be transferred to The Teaching Council in September at which stage you will be issued with an application form for registration.
