Codes of Professional Conduct for Teachers
The Teaching Council Act, 2001, 7.-(2) (b), requires the Council to establish, publish, review and maintain codes of professional conduct for teachers which shall include standards of teaching, knowledge, skill and competence. In accordance with that Section Codes of Professional Conduct for Teachers were published in 2007.

There is much to be gained by individual reflection on and group discussion of the Codes of Professional Conduct for Teachers. To facilitate this, the Teaching Council has developed two prompt sheets.

Review of the Codes of Professional Conduct for Teachers
The Council has now commenced a process of reviewing the Codes of Professional Conduct for Teachers and welcomes feedback from teachers and others in the education community in relation to any aspect of the Codes.
