Form D - Can I send my Form D by email?

Yes, please submit your fully completed Form D by post or by email to conditions@teachingcouncil.ie Please ensure that your Form D is completed correctly, including signature(s), date(s) and school stamp. Please note that electronic signatures will not be accepted.

Form D - I have misplaced/I cannot gain access to my Form D. Can I reprint the form?

Yes, you can reprint the form and get it signed by your PST. Please indicate the name(s) of the Education Centres where you attended your Cluster Meetings and please give the dates.

Form D - I cannot access the school stamp - can my form be submitted without it?

Yes, the form will be accepted once the school details are completed and it is signed by the PST members. Please note that the Council may verify the details on the form with your school.

Form D - When completing Form D, what do I put in as my end date?

As you have completed Strand A including the time requirement, you should insert the end date as appropriate to your situation. Time up to the end of the academic year 2019/2020 can be included. Please note that the PST should insert the date that they are signing the form. The PST may not sign the form in advance of completion of the Droichead process.

Form D - What is the deadline for the submission of my Form D?

Form Ds for the 2019/2020 school year will be accepted up to 31 December 2020.

Group 2 - I have engaged in Droichead for the required time and have completed Cluster Meeting 1 and the Professional Learning Activity, but not Cluster Meeting 2. Can I still submit my form?

Yes, please submit your completed Form D by post or by email to conditions@teachingcouncil.ie. It is expected that you will have the majority of Strand B completed e.g. Cluster Meetings and/or Professional Learning Activities. The Council’s expectation is that you will continue to participate in professional learning activities which may include Induction Workshops, webinars etc.

Group 2 - I have engaged in Droichead for the required time and I have completed all the required Cluster Meetings, but I haven’t completed the Professional Learning Activity. Can I still submit my form?

Group 2 - I’ve completed observations online, can this be counted?

Yes, online observations can be counted towards Droichead.

Group 2 - Can my online teaching and learning be counted?

Yes, with the agreement of your PST, online teaching and learning can be counted towards Droichead.

Group 3 - Why do I have to submit a Form D if I have not completed the required days/hours and some other elements of Strand A?

In order to allow the Council to bank your time and note all the elements that you have completed you must submit the form with this detail. When you complete the balance of the time and the missing elements you should submit a new Form D with this information. The Council will combine the information on both forms and update your registration. The two forms may be signed by different PSTs in the same or different schools.

Group 3 - How do I record the various elements of Strand A that I have engaged in on my Form D?

The specific elements of Strand A that you have completed may be outlined under Section 3 (page2) of your Droichead form. This should be done in advance of the PST signing the form and may be verified by the Council.

Group 3 - How do I re-apply to complete the balance of time and/or the outstanding elements?

Once you have secured employment, you will be able to re-apply through the “My Registration” login on the Teaching Council website www.teachingcouncil.ie. This will be available from the first week in September 2020. When you complete the balance of the time and the missing elements you should submit a new Form D with this information. The Council will combine the information on both forms and update your registration. The two forms may be signed by different PSTs in the same or different schools.

Group 3 - I will have to finish Droichead in the next academic year, what do I need to do/know?

The Council will publish Transitionary Arrangements which will give additional clarity and direction early in the school year.

PST - My PST member is now on leave or no longer in the school - can my principal sign the form on their behalf?

PST - I have only completed part of my Droichead process, can I submit my form without my PST’s guidance or signatures?

No, the Form D you submit must be signed by your PST as you are banking the time and the elements that you have already completed, these must be signed by the PST supporting you in your Droichead process.

PST - My PST are refusing to sign my Form D, what do I do?

PST - Can my online teaching and learning be counted?

Yes, with the agreement of your PST, online teaching and learning can be counted towards Droichead.
