1. When I log in to MyRegistration, I get the following error message - 'You do not have access to this page'. What should I do?

You may receive the error message below when you are already logged into your MyRegistration account on another tab or device. To rectify this, please click Logout in the right-hand corner and then log back in again.

2. When I try to enter my Password, I get the following error message - "Password not acceptable for security reasons". What should I do?

You may receive this error message if you have omitted a character from your Password, in particular a special character i.e. !, *, $, etc. 

Please re-enter your Password paying particular attention to the characters entered. To view the Password you can select the symbol to view your entry. To do this, you must have your cursor in the 'Password box' (this will not display on some phones so you may wish to try another device if this error keeps occurring). 

Should this not fix the issue, please email myreghelp@teachingcouncil.ie 

3. What is my User Name?

Your User Name is the initial email address you used to access your account. If you changed your email since initial activation you must email myreghelp@teachingcouncil.ie to update your email address and we will reset your portal account. 

 

What is the new MyRegistration portal account?

The Teaching Council has introduced an enhanced online registration database giving you access to carry out many of your registration requirements via your online MyRegistration account. 

These services include *renewing registration, vetting, changing personal details, and easy access to your Certificate of Registration. 

To access these services, you must activate your new MyRegistration portal account. 

*Renewal is now an online service, via your online MyRegistration account, you no longer require a PIN to renew. As this is a declaratory process, phone payments are also no longer facilitated. 

I am using the same details that I previously used for MyRegistration but they are not working.

Your old login details will not work with your new MyRegistration account. You need to create a new account as per the steps below:

If you are a registered teacher, you will have previously been issued a unique *link by email to activate your account. 

Step 1: Click the link in the email

Step 2: Your User Name will be prepopulated (your User Name is your email address as held on your Teaching Council record)

Step 3: Create your Password

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long. It must contain at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, a number, and a special character (e.g. *, !, $, etc.)

I haven't received an email on how to create my new MyRegistration account. What should I do?

How do I access/activate my MyRegistration portal account?

I have activated my MyRegistration portal account, how do I login?

If you have already created a My Registration account, thereafter you can go to the My Registration login page on the Teaching Council website. 

To login use your User Name (*email address) and Password.

I have forgotten my Password

Step 1:       On the Login page, click the Picture2  button

Step 2:        Enter your email address in the “Forgotten Password – User Name” box

Step 3:        Select “Send Password Reminder”

Assuming a match is found, you will receive an email. Select the link and this will allow you to change your Password Log in using your email and new password.

What are the Password requirements for MyRegistration?

I don't have access to the email account that the Teaching Council has on record for me. How can I get my account activation link?

If you no longer have access to the email account held on record for you, please email myreghelp@teachingcouncil.ie to request a new activation link. 

Please include the following personal identifiers in your email:

  1. Registration Number
  2. Your full name held on the Register
  3. Date of Birth
  4. Email address currently held on Register
  5. New email address you wish to have link issued to

Can I use a different email for my MyRegistration than the one that appears when I click the link to create my account?

Yes, you can change the email address that is used as your username when you are creating your account, if it is a valid email address. Please note that you may also want to update the email address used for notifications from the Teaching Council which is stored in My Personal Details section of your account. 

I received an email with the link to create my account but I have lost it. What should I do?

If you cannot find the activation link that was previously issued to you, please email myreghelp@teachingcouncil.ie to request a new link. 

Please include the following personal identifiers in your email:

1. Your Registration Number 

2. Your full name held on the Register

3. Your date of birth 

4. The email address currently held on the Register

What if I share an email address with another Registered teacher?

If the email address that we have on record for you is also used by another teacher, only one of you will be able to use that email address to log in to MyRegistration. Please ensure that the email address you choose as a User Name is unique to you, i.e. not shared with another teacher. 

I have logged in and some of my details are out of date. What should I do?

You can update some of your details using the various options available to you when you log in to MyRegistration. You can update many of your personal/contact details immediately with the exception of some like name, gender, and PPS Number. You can submit a request to change those items and provide supporting documentation. Once the documentation has been reviewed and all is in order, your details will be updated for you. You can also update your employment details and submit requests to have qualifications added to your registration using MyRegistration. We encourage you to ensure that your details are up to date. 

What is the 'Paymasters' section of My Employment?

In order to be paid from State funds, your paymaster needs to ascertain your registration status from the Teaching Council. The Teaching Council receives updates from Paymasters, identifying their payees and Paymaster settings are updated accordingly to ensure that we share your data with the appropriate paymaster. 

Important Note: If the correct Paymaster is not ticked, payment of your salary may be at risk as the Paymaster will not be able to confirm your registration status.

I was previously registered but am not currently registered. Can I create a MyRegistration account?

Yes, if you were previously registered with the Teaching Council an account will be waiting for you! Click on My Registration and select Create an Account. From there, you should go to the Previous Registrant/Applicant section and click on Request my Account Creation Link. You will be asked to provide some information to identify your account and either a link will be emailed to you or a member of the Teaching Council will contact you with instructions.

I applied for registration previously but never registered. Can I create a MyRegistration account?

Yes, if you applied in the past but did not register, there will be an account created for you and you can request a link to that account by clicking on My Registration on the Teaching Council website and selecting Create an Account. From there, you should go to the Previous Registrant/Applicant section and click on Request my Account Creation Link. You will be asked to provide some information to identify your account and either a link will be emailed to you or a member of the Teaching Council will contact you with instructions.

I used the link that I received but now I am trying to use it again to log in and am getting an error message. How do I access my account?

The link that you receive can only be used for the initial activation of your account. Once activated, the link cannot be used to access your account. To log in to your account, go to the Teaching Council website and click on My Registration. You can then enter the username and password that you used when creating/activating your account.

I have a question in relation to MyRegistration accounnt that isn't covered here. What should I do?
