The History and Structure (H&S) examination is required when, an applicant for registration as a post-primary teacher has completed a programme of teacher education outside of the Republic of Ireland, to gain knowledge and understanding of the history and structure of the Irish education system.

The exams are held online, and candidates have a maximum of two hours and thirty minutes to complete them. The next exam will be held on Saturday, 11 November.
