This amendment enables student teachers who have successfully completed the first two years of an accredited undergraduate Initial Teacher Education programme (primary and post-primary) to apply for registration with the Teaching Council. A copy of the amendment can be viewed in detail here (PDF).
The application process for this route of registration, namely ‘Route 5 – Student Teachers’ has now commenced. Eligible student teachers will receive an email inviting them to register over the coming days. Once registration is finalised a Certificate of Registration will be issued.
