If you are a teacher it’s a legal requirement to register with the Teaching Council in order to receive a salary paid by the State. This ensures all teachers are qualified, capable and ethical professionals.

All teachers are legally required to be vetted by the National Vetting Bureau. It is the role of the Teaching Council to administer vetting for teachers in Ireland.
