Applications for the Féilte Bursary Scheme 2025 are now open on the Teaching Council website. Following the positive impact of the Féilte Bursary Scheme 2024, this year’s bursary fund has been expanded, with a total bursary fund of €125,000. Schools may apply for bursaries of €2,000 or €5,000 to support collaborative professional learning activities in their school communities.

On the launch of the bursary scheme, Director of the Teaching Council Dr Lynn Ramsey said:

“The Féilte Bursary is designed to support a culture of professional collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst teachers and schools. Last year we saw wonderful examples of teachers’ commitment to professional learning with a variety of projects from creative writing in Mathematics through Irish, to the establishing of professional learning communities between special schools. These, and the other 25 collaborative projects which received funding, underscore the high standards and quality of our teaching profession in Ireland. This year, we have increased the available bursary funding from €100,000 to €125,000, to further support schools who wish to explore an area of professional learning, enhancing their practice.”

The Féilte 2025 Hub on our website contains application guidelines, a showcase of previous bursary recipients and an FAQ section. The Féilte team will host an informational webinar to guide applicants through the application process on 24 September.
